B-17 Alliance Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) association formed to:(1) Return the famous Gas Station Bomber to her original flying glory. (2) Construct a destination education facility that documents the personal stories of our World War II heroes.B-17 Alliance Foundation is preserving the legacy of "The Greatest Generation." The 16 million Americans who fought and served during World War II to build the country we enjoy today. In a few years the Greatest Generation will pass. To restore the Lacey Lady and build a destination educational site is an ambitious goal, but with the enthusiasm and passion of over 100 volunteers and growing community support are making progress and will see her fly again. There are fewer than 50 B-17's in existence, it is our duty and honor to Preserve this American History. On a limited budget, with attention to detail and frugal spending patterns, much has been done. The aircraft has been segmented into sections for dismantle, inspection & rebuild. The Nose Section is under certification for airworthy status. A museum, research library, PX & Tour programs are in place and growing daily. Funding comes primarily from private donors, but our efforts would not have been successful without volunteer support. Engineers, machinists, mechanics, and aviation enthusiasts have donated thousands of hours and dollars to help make our vision a reality. Our list of accomplishments is long, but there is much to do. The total vision is estimated at $9 million and is estimated to take 1o years. A capital campaign is needed. We are rapidly outgrowing our current facility. You can help: Help us raise awareness – come for a visit and see for yourself the great work our crew is doing. Like and share our postings. Donate. Invite a friend. Every dollars, every effort, makes a difference, YOU can make a difference!Under these Wings: We Preserve American History. We Educate Generations. We Inspire Community.
