B Crystal Corporation was founded in 2014 in the State of Washington, USA, and acquired the former Union Carbine and St. Gobain Columbia Tech Center in Washougal, Washington with about 53,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. Since then, B Crystal Corporation has expanded its investment in equipment, personnel and upgrading the plant to accommodate full-line, commercial optic and LED monocrystalline sapphire production. B Crystal Corporation's solutions are tailored made to meet the requirements of the aerospace, defense, semiconductor, LED, consumer electronics and apparel industries. B Crystal was created by some of the shareholders of Baltic Crystal S.A., a sapphire crystal manufacturer in Latvia (a member of the European Union), which was founded in 2011 by a group of professionals with prior experience in the semiconductor industry. Baltic Crystal invested in research and development in order to devise and implement advanced production in Latvia based on the Modified Kyropoulos method. As a result, Baltic Crystal realized sales of its 90 kg synthetic monocrystalline sapphires worldwide.In 2014, Baltic Crystal management made the decision to stop manufacturing operations in Latvia due to increasing electric power rates.
