Arts & Crafts - Milan, Lombardy, Italy
B-house Art Company is made up of a group of six Colombian artists born in the late 1980s. The group meets for the first time in Barcelona. In 2012, Marlo Montoya together with Pablo Bermudez set up the B-house Art Company as an artistic collective, joined shortly afterwards also by Javier Blanco, David Linarte, Blito B. and Daniel Davila. The choice of a company name reveals the focus of the group's artistic and sociological investigation: branding, marketing and their intrinsic links with the world of art.PABLO BERMUDEZPablo Bermudez was born in Pereira, Colombia, in 1988. In 1997 he moved to Cali for a short period waiting to be able to join his father in Barcelona, the city where he lived until 2002. He then moved to Italy, near the city of Como, and in 2009 he began his artistic training at the Aldo Galli Academy of Fine Arts. Here he met the artist painter and teacher Giuliano Collina, for whom he worked as assistant. In 2013 he created his first faces in "Vacuum" and reworked glamorous paper magazines: through cuttings with the scalpel, he disfigured the initial image, subverting the original message. These works will then go on to constitute his first solo exhibition in the Spazio Pedraglio in Como.MARLO MONTOYAMarlo Montoya was born in Pereira, Colombia, in 1986. Moving to Barcelona at the age of 10, he began attending an art therapy group. It is in art that he finds his dimension, the way to grow and discover his own identity. After graduating in 2005, he therefore enrolled in the drawing and painting course at the Barcelona Academy of Art. During his academic studies, he also approached the world of photography, pursuing a path of study and experimentation. Marlo's artistic investigation is a sort of archaeology of web images. In 2018, 1.31 trillion digital photographs were taken and ended up on internet servers. Search engines therefore become the artist's archaeological sites.(keep reading the biographies of our artists on our website)
