Our vision is of an enclosed sanctuary where honeybees and medicinal herbs and plants are held sacred. The sanctuary will be located on pristine land. Caretakers and guests of the sanctuary will be asked to cultivate a sense of heart-centered reference in relationship to the bees and plants.Within the B1&2 Utopia sanctuary honeybees may live in a foundation designed to allow honey harvest and observation of the hive. The bees will both forage from, and receive biodynamic teas from, the medicinal herbs and plants in the sanctuary. Queens are made in the USA and will be raised by the bees themselves, according to the natural instincts of the hive. Sugar or other imitation hive foods will not be fed to the bees. We will use vitalistic and biodynamic approaches to the treatment of varroa mites and other disease states. In addition, we will use sound healing therapies to help restore honeybee health to hives, including tuning instruments as vehicles for sacred sound. These holistic beekeeping techniques are being developed in relationship with the bees and are closely aligned to produce only spectacular specialty honey. We intend to create a refuge away from stress, anxiety and toxins that have become our culture's norm. We dedicate ourselves to beauty, love and gratitude and from this dedication, we will create an environment for honeybee, medicinal plant and a sanctuary for you to come visit anytime you're in need of a getaway, in the words of Sir Thomas More: to Utopia.
