B2B CENTRUM a.s. (Inc.) was established in February 2000 by Dalibor Wijas, who is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO. The B2B CENTRUM project attracted the attention of investor Esther Dyson and businessman Roman Stanek, who both decided to provide the company with seed investment.B2B CENTRUM provides firms with e-commerce services and arranges advisory services in commercial use of the Internet. The company creates and operates electronic marketplaces and implements and leases e-commerce software applications for specific clients.Today, B2B CENTRUM is the leading e-commerce software and services provider in the Czech Republic. Its e-marketplaces gain tremendous turnovers and provide reliable, fast and secure transaction hubs for clients from whole spectrum of industries.Government electronic marketplace GeM is the oldest and biggest online public marketplace in the Czech Republic, which is used by more than 13 thousands users from various government bodies, regional and municipal institutions and theirs suppliers. It was launched in 2002 and it has dealt hundreds of thousand transactions in amount more than 5 billion CZK till the end of 2008.The company uses its own software platform Softrade in customer solutions for B2B e-commerce applications. The powerful spend management software product, Softrade Buyer creates the backbone of the company's product portfolio. There are also other products build on the Softrade platform, like Softrade Seller and Softrade Auction.Those products are offered as a basic solution to those clients who wish to build and operate their own e-procurement or e-sales B2B marketplace or portal. Thereupon, such a specific private marketplace is implemented on the basis of the client's needs and requirements. Another interesting variation is the opportunity to operate a private marketplace using the ASP or SaaS model.
