Backstay is a consultancy service set-up by Frank O'Flynn to provide strategic and commercially-orientated advice to clients with the benefit of his years of experience as a corporate, finance and energy lawyer working in Ireland and internationally. Frank has twenty years' experience as a professional adviser specialising in the energy sector. During this time, he has worked in the Energy Directorate of the European Commission in Brussels, in the energy and project finance departments of major London and New York law firms CMS Cameron McKenna and Cadwalader Wickersham and Taft, as a corporate and energy partner of O'Flynn Exhams in Cork and in the legal departments of BP Plc in Aberdeen and Bord Gais Eireann (Irish Gas Board) in Cork.While Frank's background is primarily in the energy sector, the transactional experience gained and the diverse corporate and commercial skills developed working with this sector and on the development and financing of infrastructure and power projects have proven to be of significant benefit when advising in a broader corporate / commercial context.
