bad architects group is young international architectural practice, operating from Innsbruck and Salzburg, Austria, co-founded by Ursula Faix and Paul Burgstaller. The portfolio of the practice encompasses all fields of design, ranging from urban scale through to interiors. Central to the concerns of the company is a simultaneous engagement in practice, teaching and urban research.Prior establishing bad architects group the partners have gained practice by collaborating with Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome, West 8 Urban Design and Rem Koolhaas in Rotterdam as well as Behnisch&Partner on projects in urban scale. Currently both partners are professors for City Planning at the University for Business and Technology in Prishtina, Kosovo/a and are engaged in the Institute for Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, Moreover bad architects group is embedded in a network of planners, focusing on the urban realm.Alongside classical urban development projects like ‚Stadtwerke Areal‘ or ‚Arctic Gradient‘ bad architects group has worked on the topic of the relation between the physical city, the infrastructure and it's political, economical and social ecological influences. Examples include projects like "DE-tro-IT", a shrinking cities project, "The POWER of the UNESCO world heritage", a project for the 3rd Architecture Biennale Rotterdam or ‚Operation Haparanda‘, a project for the 3rd Oslo Triennial in Norway.Against this backdrop bad architects group is not only putting the exceptional design ability and the professional experience of the design team at the service of its clients but also contributing to the urban development by the unique soft skills in the urban realm.
