The Badger group includes companies linked to the original GP out-of-hours co-operative, Badger Ltd, founded as a company limited by guarantee in 1996. Badger is the Birmingham and District GP Emergency Room and provides mutual out-of-hours GP services to patients of its 200+ GP members. Badger is linked to Badger Healthcare Ltd, a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, which provides GP out-of-hours services to patients of non-member GP practices which have opted out of 24-hour care. These services are commissioned by the NHS.The group also includes Badger Medical, providing other health care services, and Sett Support Partnership, owning premises. Badger is also a member of joint venture companies also providing primary health care to the NHS.
