We are Badgr — the world's most open and inclusive digital credentialing network and the only platform where anyone can issue unlimited badges for free. Grounded in our belief that technological innovation is key to solving the social, economic and environmental problems we face today, Badgr has been at the forefront of the digital credential space since its origination. Chosen by the MacArthur Foundation to be lead author of the Open Badges 2.0 specification, by late 2015, we developed a draft version and released Badgr as an open source reference. Also central in the development in the ecosystem at the request of Mozilla, we transitioned their Open Badges Backpack to Badgr in 2019. Mozilla, MacArthur and Badgr has passed stewardship of the Open Badges standard to IMS Global where it remains today. Headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, but used by thousands of organizations across the globe to issue digital badges and stackable micro-credentials, our secure platform connects learners to new education and employment pathways.
