Azerbaijan with its capital city Baku is regarded as center of investment of Caucasus due to its vast hydrocarbon production, particularly oil. Since gaining independence in 1991, the country has benefited from cash flows, 84 billion USD, that in turn certain portion of which has been translated into various projects in the fields of IT, oil and gas, construction, infrastructure development etc.Launch of numerous projects has created a large demand for project managers with relevant skills and expertise to ensure efficient implementation. However the number of professional certified PMPs in the market remain limited. In this condition, project implementer companies started to import the experts from other countries. Both the demand in the market and the need for increased effectiveness and efficiency of implemented projects emerged the idea of starting the Baku Project Management School (BPMS) in 2012.Staff of the school is composed of certified professionals with extensive experience in project management in various business fields among which are construction and distribution industry. BPMSâs portfolio includes projects as with the Investment Group LLC in the field of green house construction (20 mln. EUR) and project planning service with the Baku Shipyard LLC (500 mln. EUR). More than 100 people in companies like Investment Group LLC, AKKORD LLC, Baku Shipyard LLC have been trained for better project process management during more than two years period.
