The Bal Ashram Trust was founded by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Ms. Sumedha Kailash in 1998 as a rehabilitation center for children rescued from child labour, child trafficking, and child slavery in Viratnagar, Rajasthan, and is a part of the Satyarthi Movement. Bal Ashram is committed to successful repatriation in society of all children in need of care and protection, enabling them to be successful citizens and agents of change through a multi-faceted rights-based approach. The Trust, along with the rehabilitation center runs holistic programs for child rights in over 200 villages in Rajasthan.
