We at BAMAP (Black and Asian Minority's Medical Professionals and Patients - a student led initiative) are exploring patients' and healthcare professionals' perspectives on their healthcare experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is because we noticed disparities in health outcomes and wondered how patient's treatment and experience of healthcare professionals impacted on their quality of care. We are planning to explore this in London based NHS trusts across its four corners. Therefore, this qualitative research seeks to understand the lived experience of people, both patients and health professionals, in order to develop an anti-racist curriculum for teaching about health disparities in COVID-19 outcomes. Seeing how people from BAME backgrounds themselves attribute differences in outcomes may help to clarify the current medical debates about causal attribution.
