In 1996, NBG decided to use the core banking system by Temenos (marketed later as T24) for the then new establishments in Balkan countries. This premier banking software was gradually expanded to the entire international network of NBG. NBG concluded an effectual strategy of "one unique team", "a single point of reference" and established therefore a team, here in Sofia, to support the T24 core banking system. Since then, this T24 support team, operating later as BANKTECO EOOD, supported and continues to support NBG international network, jointly with various IT support groups in Athens Data Centre. The constant and long experience (over 23 years) on T24 support services and numerous, demanding but always successful T24 implementation and migration projects, also interfacing with miscellaneous peripheral banking systems (SAP, Payments Cards, Internet Banking, SEPA, SWIFT, local payments systems, loans origination, statements printing, collections systems, e.a.) coined an advanced level of expertise and substantial competence.
