BAO & BING, the new Taiwanese street food-inspired dining concept is set to open in the heart of London's Marylebone, serving up a mouth-watering selection of dishes that embrace the electric atmosphere of the buzzing night street markets of Taipei and Jiufen. As the name eludes, Bao & Bing brings traditional Taiwanese favorites to the fore, with a delicious menu full of dishes that highlight the nation's reputation as the food capital of Asia. The unique concept has been born of the founder, Paul Sarlas', passion for the Far East and his wife's local knowledge of dishes and ingredients, bringing centuries-old family recipes to the fore. Decades of travelling through Asia together has inspired the couple for create Bao & Bing, bringing the vibrancy of flavours and energy of the night market culture to the masses of London.The upstairs dining room will be dedicated to serving food for lunch and dinner, industrially designed and inspired by 50s and 60s subcultures -walls are lines in a variety of Taiwanese ephemera, collected over the founder's years of travelling throughout Asia. A dark and intimate tea room and cocktail bar will be secluded away downstairs for a more relaxed, social drinking environment. The highlights of Bao & Bing's unique menu include their selection of soft, pillowy Bao buns served with a variety of fillings; choose from options such as Pork Belly with Chilli, Coriander and Chiu Chow Mayoor Panko Shrimp with Wok Cabbage, Chilli, Coriander and Spicy Sesame Sauce. Monthly-changing seasonal specials will also feature on the Bao menu. Speciality Wheelcakes (round, waffle-type batter cakes traditionally filled with azuki bean paste) will be made live at the bar for all guests to witness; fillings include Vanilla and Matcha and traditional sweet Red Bean.i
