Nonprofit Organization Management - Munich, Bavaria, Germany
BARAZA is Swahili for "meeting place."A veranda, a stone seat in an entrance hall, a bench against the outside wall of a house--anywhere set aside to receive visitors or allow people to gather on a regular basis is a BARAZA.We are a nonprofit, Non-Governmental Agency (NGO) founded by a group of internationals who believe all human cultures and belief systems share valuable common ground. We prioritize and celebrate diversity, working daily to be a BARAZA for interfaith and intercultural community-building.Our initiatives create "meeting places" for discussion. Sometimes these discussions are moderated by the wisdom of leaders and experts in particular value systems, and other times they are more spontaneous and organic. All of our activities, however, have a collective goal: to allow us to experience the "other," and grow in understanding.Engaging with BARAZA is engaging a simple hope: that we can overcome the obstacles to human communication and understanding that are the heart of conflict in our world. BARAZA's resources and efforts are wholeheartedly dedicated to diminishing those obstacles. We work to create a world of understanding--one nurtured by experts, sustained by our fellow seekers, and teeming with diversity, understanding, and goodwill. You are warmly invited to join us on this journey.
