Bass was founded in 1970 as a retail mail order company specializing in marine lighting. In 1978, we entered the electrical panel business with a high-grade line of aluminum panels featuring a sleeker look, as well as advanced graphics and engineering. As we took a step back in the 1980's, we realized we should focus on our strengths. We then phased out marine lighting and focused our efforts solely on electrical panels for power distribution on boats and specialty vehicles. This change of focus helped us put forth a series of innovations in panel category. But even with those innovations, there was room to grow.In 2001, Bass Products became a subsidiary of Plainville Electrical Products, Co. (PEPCO) and moved to PEPCO's 40,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Bristol, CT. PEPCO, a premier designer and manufacturer of electrical switchboards for military and industrial applications, instantly elevated Bass' technical capabilities.Today we are a full-service engineering and manufacturing firm that offers complete electrical solutions for any boat – from a 20' day sailor to a Virginia Class submarine, and everything in between. Our team of strategic thinkers and engineers stands ready to bring any vision to life.
