BATTLEDORE LTD is based in Kingston, New York.We are located 90 miles north of Manhattan and 60 miles below Albany along the Hudson River. Our gallery is open by appointment only. Please give us a call at 845 339-6944 if you are in the area and would like to arrange a visit.We specialize in Children's Book Illustration Art and Vintage Historical Propaganda. We keep a good selection of iconic illustrations for children's books from Randolph Caldecott, Kate Greenaway and Walter Crane, Maxfield Parrish, Beatrix Potter to modern masters: Ludwig Bemelmans, Maurice Sendak, Chris van Allsburg, Garth Williams, and Leonard Weisgard, among others.Our new major interest has been Historical Propaganda in its many forms - books, prints, posters, art and ephemera - with a strong focus on Chinese Propaganda during the Mao period (1930–1975).
