The Institute for Logistics and Production Engineering (BAY-LOGI) is the leading applied research organisation in the North-Hungarian Region.The mission of BAY-LOGI is to promote R&D in Hungary and to conduct related applied research and development activities, mainly to support the innovative activities of the enterprises in this region.As a result of the deliberate development matching to market demands there have been significant changes in the activities BAY-LOGI since its foundation. In the beginning the main research areas were logistics, production engineering, informatics and recycling. Since then several new fields of research have been started and strengthened within BAY-LOGI like structural integrity (safe operation of structures), environmental management, mechatronics, moreover new departments were founded, like energetic, material development and nanotechnology, in the last few years. Presently almost 70 people work in the Institute including PhD students.
