Too many highly qualified international students achieve academically in their home countries, only to struggle with translating their talents to success in the unique cultural context of a U.S. university classroom and campus life. In the process, students waste time and resources. Housed in a safe, secure, and tranquil residential setting on the grounds of a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf resort in Bay City, Michigan, Bay Valley International Academy delivers courses, workshops, and cultural excursions focused on translating a student's academic success at home into achievement in a selective U.S. university. In addition to academic cultural mastery courses, BVIA offers workshops more directly focused on English language instruction, as well as TOEFL® and SAT® preparation. The BVIA program also includes a comprehensive golf academy, along with regional cultural excursions and university campus visits, that further position students for success. To avoid any delay in a student's progress toward a U.S. university degree, BVIA complements concurrent student study at a nearby nationally ranked Michigan college, where students earn credit applicable to a degree. BVIA's academic counselor, with experience placing students in a range of U.S. universities, including several Ivy League institutions, works with each student to ensure transfer to an appropriate university for degree completion following BVIA.
