Bayan Islamic Graduate School began operating in 2011 as Bayan Claremont at the world-renowned Claremont School of Theology (est. 1885), offering an accredited 48-unit Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.) degree with concentrations in Islamic Studies, Advanced Islamic Theology, Islamic Leadership, and Islamic Education, and the nation's first accredited 72-unit Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in Islamic Chaplaincy. Bayan is proud to be part of CST's legacy of leading efforts to desegregate theological education. As of May 2020, approximately 40 students will have graduated from Bayan Claremont.In 2019, Bayan Chicago began operating at the Chicago Theological Seminary, (est. 1855). Throughout its history, CTS has been a leader in theological education, social justice, and societal transformation. At CTS, Bayan offers an accredited 75-unit Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree in Islamic Chaplaincy, and collaborates with the seminary's Interreligious Institute to extend learning opportunities in the Chicagoland area.For the community at large, Bayan provides bayanonline.org, an online learning platform with self-paced content derived from the graduate courses offered in our degree programs. While no academic credit is provided, subscribers to the platform gain access to lectures and presentations from world-renowned faculty and scholars affiliated with Bayan.
