Be Cosplay (previously known as 'Belgian Cosplay Team'), is the first belgian association to specialise in Cosplay. The association was created in 2006 and aims to promote all of the aspects of Cosplay in Belgium as well as bringing Manga and Anime fans together. Through Be Cosplay, the fans can share opinions, they can participate to the making of costumes and props or even take part to various social and cultural activities. Be Cosplay aims to unite the belgian Anime/Manga (and others) and Cosplay fans. The adventure started in February 2006 when the editor ‘KANA‘ held a Cosplay contest during Brussel's book fair. The Cosplayers who attended the event felt there had not been any real belgian cosplay initiative before the organisation of that event, and the Cosplayers welcomed the initiative with great enthusiasm! This event launched the idea that we had to regroup and to make things happen! Therefore, some highly motivated individuals quickly decided to put a more and more professional approach of cosplay to the events organisers' service and decided to create the association.
