Becoming Collegiate Academy is a proposed tuition-free Public Charter School intending to serve grades Kindergarten through 5th grade in Jacksonville, Florida. Our school is set to open its doors to over 100 kindergartners in 2021 and adding one-grade level each subsequent year until operating K-5. We are currently targeting the North Jacksonville (Norwood and Lake Forrest) communities to house our school. Becoming Collegiate Academy offers a unique school that is rooted in love, learning, and culture. At Becoming, we are committed to our mission to prepare all students in grades K-5 to be successful in college and life. Inspired by the transformative work of History Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Becoming seeks to replicate the culture of belonging, inclusiveness, love, and academic excellence that students excel from when they attend these elite institutions. Through love, rigorous academics, and enriching extra-curricular options on campus through our unique character development program known as our house system, students will acquire a similar deep appreciation for excellence, a passion for community service, and a commitment to become leaders and mentors for the next generation. Becoming owes it Jacksonville to instill in its youngest citizens a sense of pride and commitment to our beautiful community.
