We are an indirect tax consultancy specialising principally in VAT, but we also advise on some areas of customs and excise. A high proportion of our work relates to disputes ranging from penalty cases to technical appeals to the First-tier Tribunal (Tax).A high proportion of our clients are professional firms. We advise accounting firms ranging from single office High Street firms to two of the top-20. We also regularly advise solicitors and chartered surveyors. Professional firms use us for technical support and/or help with contentious matters. We are instructed directly by businesses in all sectors.We have extensive experience of VAT in insolvency, including LPA work.We were part of the team acting for the taxpayer in the first tax mediation to complete under the HMRC pilot project. Paddy Behan is a CEDR accredited mediator and will accept instructions both in tax and general commercial disputes (including property, construction and professional negligence.
