The Behavioral Health Commission (BHC) is a new commission (est. 2021) of the Virginia General Assembly, established to provide ongoing legislative focus on improving the state's behavioral health system. The Commission is comprised of 12 state legislators charged with making policy decisions to provide Virginians with access to a full continuum of high-quality and efficient behavioral health services. The Commission's full-time, dedicated staff conducts robust, nonpartisan public policy research on topics selected by members and use research findings to make policy recommendations that inform legislators' policy decisions.
