Behavioral Informatix, LLC was founded in April, 2013 by Matthew Black, Alexandros Potamianos, and Shrikanth Narayanan, with a combined 50 years of research experience in engineering, computer science, linguistics, and psychology in academic and industry settings. It was formed to bring the team's pioneering work in the emerging field of Behavioral Signal Processing (BSP) to market. Our main focus is on addressing societally-significant problems by extracting relevant cues ("features") from human behavioral signals (e.g., speech, language, physiology) and applying state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to map these features to relevant higher-level descriptions (e.g., states such as emotions or fatigue; traits such as trustworthiness or likability; actions such as donating money or filing a complaint), providing previously hidden information to the stakeholder(s) for improved decision-making. We are looking to connect with organizations that are aligned with our company vision and could benefit from our unique skill sets.
