Environmental Services - Belize City, Belize, Belize
Founded in 1969, the Belize Audubon Society is a non-governmental, membership-based organization dedicated to the sustainable management of Belize's resources . We are involved in enhancing the development of Belize's natural capital through protected areas management, environmental education, advocacy, community development, and research programs. To many, the name Audubon is synonymous with birds. Additionally, Belize Audubon's conservation efforts focus on other wildlife and their habitats for the benefit of both humanity and the earth's biological diversity. BAS currently co-manages seven (7) of Belize's Protected Areas, including Blue Hole Natural Monument, Half Moon Caye Natural Monument, St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, Gunanacaste National Park, and Victoria Peak Natural Monument.
