Benjamin 1784 or Ben is a US registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization engaged in poverty, equality, and global development. We are innovating a new way forward in microfinance which we call Donation Lending™. We give small donations that we call loans. We don't charge interest or fees and we ask borrowers to do the same...to pay if forward.We work with entrepreneurs in developing and emerging economies; people that may be marginalized and underserved by financial institutions because their capital requirements are too small and other various reasons. We give a lifeline when the alternative is often predatory, strong arm lenders who perpetuate inequities.Our modest work has supported 317 entrepreneurs (81% female) in 35 countries since 2013. Our platform gives donors, partners, and volunteers the opportunity to participate in our work and make an immediate impact. Join us and let's do some good together.
