THE HISTORY OF THE HOTELThe Cross Lanes Hotel was originally built as a private house in 1890. In 1959 it was converted to a hotel and the features and homely atmosphere have been lovingly preserved to this day.The oak panelling in the front hall is Jacobean, dating back to about 1620, and was rescued from a grand old house – Emral Hall at Worthenbury – and carefully restored at the Cross Lanes in 1935.Today, the Cross Lanes provides a delightful setting for those who enjoy good food and fine wines, whether it is dining in our Restaurant, a wedding reception, a private party in our Garden Suite overlooking our beautiful lawns and gardens, or a meeting in the quiet seclusion of a country setting. Our six acres of lawn, shrubs, orchard and paddock provide a truly wonderful setting – whatever the occasion.Michael Kagan, the proprietor of the hotel since 1987, and his staff extend a warm welcome to all guests at the Cross Lanes, and hope that you will enjoy the "home from home" atmosphere we aim to create.BEST WESTERN HOTELSBecause every Best Western Hotel is independently owned, staying with Best Western is an altogether more individual experience. every hotel has its own, very special qualities. Unlike the uniformity of hotel chains, Best Western is more of an association of like-minded hoteliers, who run their own hotels in their own way.BEST WESTERN GOLD CROWN CLUBGold Crown Club is a special programme designed to reward extra special guests of Best Western hotels. You can collect Gold Crown Club International points each time you stay at Best Western hotels worldwide, which you can then exchange for free leisure and travel awards from partners like Avis and Eurostar.Pick up a leaflet from any UK hotel, call 08457 73 73 73 or visit www.bestwestern.co.uk for details.
