Beta Alpha Psi is an honours organisation for students of Information Systems, Finance and Accounting. It was founded in the United States of America in 1919 and currently has over 300 chapters spanning the United States and Oceania, involving over 300,000 students and alumni. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. Beta Alpha Psi at Victoria University of Wellington is currently open to both undergraduate and graduate students meeting the membership requirements.At Victoria University of Wellington, Beta Alpha Psi encourages members to set high standards, and aids members in achieving those standards. As well as our dedication to the core values of Beta Alpha Psi, consistent with the values of all chapters throughout the world, we aim to create a well-rounded member that is equipped for the workplace, conscious of the need to be socially responsible, professionally competent, and attractive to prospective employers.
