Since August of 1980, Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado has helped consumers find businesses, brands and charities they can trust. It serves 25 counties throughout Southern Colorado. In 2012, 776,779 local BBB businesses were investigated by consumers in the geographic area. BBB of Southern Colorado houses more than 26,000 reviews on companies in the region. In 2013, it processed and closed 2719 complaints. All company and charity reports are available for free online. The Council of Better Business Bureaus is the umbrella organization for 113 local, independent BBBs across the United States and Canada, as well as home to its national programs on dispute resolution and industry self-regulation. There are four Better Business Bureaus currently serving the Colorado area: The Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, Colorado Springs, CO. The Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau, Denver, CO Mountain States Better Business Bureau, Fort Collins, CO The Better Business Bureau Serving New Mexico and Southwestern Colorado, Farmington, NM. Your Better Business Bureau System represents the concept of self-regulation in the marketplace through voluntary cooperation. We are a public service supported by private businesses. We are considered an important information resource for businesses and consumers. Although we are affiliated with the 135 bureaus across the U.S. and Canada, each bureau is a separate corporation. The Council of Better Business Bureaus is located in Arlington, VA. The Council issues charters for local bureaus, provides support services and monitors adherence to standard guidelines.
