Health, Wellness & Fitness - Nashville, Tennessee, United States
Better Health 4Kids is a greater metropolitan Nashville based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2009 with a mission to foster access to preventative health care and to promote health education and prevention. We serve mostly low to moderate income families with children, as well as those experiencing temporary periods of financial hardship. Our programs and services include:Children's Health Fund - this program provides temporary financial assistance to families of uninsured and underinsured children enabling access to pediatric healthcare. During its pilot phase, the Children's Health Fund saved local families more than $35,000 in health care costs and enabled children from more than forty Nashville families to receive care that they would have otherwise not been able to afford. Charter School Healthcare Project - Better Health 4Kids has partnered with six local charter schools to develop state mandated Individualized Health Plans for students with chronic illness and hopes to be able to place a school nurse in each of these schools for at least one day per week to provide continuous access to healthcare support beginning later this year. Evidence-Based Projects- Better Health 4Kids is actively engaged in a number of evidence based projects intended to improve the quality of care delivered in local pediatric offices. Through partnerships with local academic institutions, we help design new strategies and implement best practice. Health Education Forums - Better Health 4Kids delivers an informative series of brown bag lunches, information sessions and Q&A events covering the healthcare topics Nashville's families care about most, such as immunizations, allergies, ADHD, learning disabilities, sports injuries and more. For more information about Better Health 4Kids or to make a tax-deductible donation, please email us at info@bh4k.org or call on (888) 851-8576.
