The recruitment process is fundamentally broken. We want to challenge the industry by driving forward with a new, genuinely service-led model.It has become harder to build the best teams – competition for candidates is tougher and replacing departing employees is expensive. Traditional recruitment agencies offer an expensive service that doesn't feel like good value – much like insurance, it's become a begrudged purchase. This cost-to-value mismatch is where the relationship with clients and candidates falls apart. The emphasis on commission is at the heart of the issue, encouraging and incentivising the wrong behaviours. Beyond this, candidates don't trust the industry and clients' expectations are far from managed well.We have to rethink the agency model and work more closely with clients to attract, and win, the best candidates. And clients want to pay a fair rate for the service delivered. It's that simple.
