Food & Beverages - Greenwich, Ohio, United States
In 1999 the Lord called Joe and Esther Keim, formerly Amish, to reach out to the Amish and former Amish in Ashland County and around the country. Over 32 states and more than 300,000 Amish people populate the Amish community in the United States. This growing people group has its own language and customs. We created a ministry called, The Mission to the Amish People or for short, MAP. Joe Keim is our founder/executive director. One of the support features of MAP is to provide housing and funding for people leaving the Amish. The expenses and outreach opportunities are endless. Therefore we are constantly creating ways to expand the funding base. Expenses are growing, needs are multiplying and thousands of people have joined our team. In 2016, we took a bold step of faith and business adventure to open a 6,000 sq. ft. bulk food store to help support New Beginnings Homestead, located on the same property, and provide training to former Amish girls while they wait on personal identification documents. The bulk food store will:o Provide jobs and income for single girls leaving the Amish culture.o Provide hands on training while the girls adjust to the English culture.o Support New Beginnings Homestead, a housing ministry for single girls. To learn more about Mission to Amish People, please go to their website http://mapministry.org.
