We seek to fix the opaque and inefficient tea supply chain that causes farmers to earn far below minimum wage, millions of pounds of plastic pollution, and a large proportion of teas to contain chemicals far above safety standardsBeyond Tea seeks to innovate on the distorted supply chains in the tea industry, which have wide-ranging impacts on farmers, processors, sellers, and consumers. Through the use of smart contracts on the blockchain, we aim to build trust by making the supply chains transparent and traceable for all stakeholders. To do this, we first partner with vetted tea sellers, then integrate their supply chain onto the blockchain, and finally sell their products at a 25% premium, where 15% of it will go to farmers and 10% to us.
