Sri Hari Ram Agarwal had come to Kolkata in the year 1959 and found employment in Kesoram Cotton Mills. After some time he joined a Biscuit factory where he gained experience . Having gained vast experience in the Biscuit trade he found good scope in the industry and in 1964 ventured into own manufacturing unit in a manually and hand-made small biscuit factory to manufacture and sell Cookies with great achievement.Simultaneously Sri Hari Ram Agarwal negotiated with Kolay Biscuits, a leader in those days, for distributorship and started distribution of Kolay Biscuits alongside his own products.Having tasted success, Sri Hari Ram Agarwal, a visionary, along with his associates formed Bhagwati Foods (P) Ltd in the year 1981 with a prime objective to produce the best biscuits to suit different consumer tastes. Thus a factory was built with modern amenities in a small Railway town of Kharagpur, situated in the district of Midnapur in West Bengal to manufacture biscuits.Under the leadership of Sri Hari Ram Agarwal, Bhagwati Foods have become an ISO 22000-2005 company and growing by leaps & bounds.
