Tork Buckley founded BBCL in 2009 consulting to yards and clients on new construction build and refit specifications, improving yard standards and efficiencies and low environmental impact superyacht solutions. BBCL also specializes in spec creation and review, development of equipment lists and solving Class and Flag regulatory issues. Every project needs a clear precise spec where both parties know exactly what to expect; clear contracts and specs smooth the way for all parties. BBCL has strong relationship with Class and Flag regulators in Europe and Asia and the US. BBCL brings to a project partnerships with fellow marine professionals; Designers, Naval architect, naval and electrical engineers, project managers, painters, paint consultants, interior designers and so on world wide. These partners can be brought in ad hoc and only when required maximising on-project skills while controlling costs.An example reference and current project is a technical consultants on a 44m new build in China; a low environmental impact motor yacht. They advise the yard on spec development, equipment recommendation, systems engineering and particularly on all the low environmental impact systems such as sewage treatment, exhausts, HVAC and battery hybrid propulsion. The R & D and design engineering was started by the Designer/Architect and BBCL a year ago using a high tech, low risk and lowered cost strategy.
