Founded in 2015, the Binghamton Pond Festival (BPF) quickly grew from a two day event into a multi-weekend wintertime staple for the Greater Binghamton area.Hosted in beautiful Chenango Valley State Park, BPF offers a variety of wintertime fun for all age groups while featuring various outdoor hockey events catered to players of any age regardless of skill level.As of 2018, BPF is now one of the few outdoor hockey events that utilizes refrigeration to ensure our ice is as reliable as possible for all our players, including the hundreds that travel to Binghamton each year from around the country. We've continued to offer great ice to our players even in weather conditions that exceeded 50 degrees, which is something we take a lot of pride in.While many other locations offer pond hockey events, we pride ourselves on offering a unique setting, essentially guaranteed ice, and an event for hockey people that is done by hockey people, and that is inclusive so as to welcome anyone into the fun.We also do this event for a good cause. In three years we have donated over $19,000 to local charities with the majority of the money going to the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier and their DIFD initiatives for youth suicide prevention and youth mental health awareness. We only donate to groups that keep the money local and in our community in an effort to give back and help our area.When winter comes around and you're looking for something to do to pass the time until summer is back, please consider being a part of our event!
