Electrical/electronic Manufacturing - Aarhus, Central Denmark Region, Denmark
The first step The initial draft of the idea came during the Innovation Week project carried by VIA University College and the Kaospilots. During this project, teams were asked to come up with an innovative idea that can be implemented in Mejlgade by 2017 when Aarhus is set to be the European Cultural Capital. The ideas were to be reviewed by Mejlgade Lab project manager, Jonatan Marcussen. As the winning team, we decided to continue developing our concept with help and guidance offered by both Mejlgade Lab and VIA University. The project is now shaping under the name Bio Lights. The Idea Bio Lights came up with a light-pole concept that is completely green, can be placed anywhere, and uses one of the oldest ways to produce energy-a water mill. It is designed to work only with the help of the end user, therefore giving them the satisfaction of helping make their city cleaner and greener. Our aim is to show how wasted energy around us can be harvested in an effective and easy way, and to help cities make a change towards using clean energy.
