Biogreen Energies is a non profit organization whose mission is to enrich the lives of the rural poor through inexpensive alternative energy. We aim to do so in a sustainable manner by using local raw materials and engaging the local population to create jobs. Our easy-to-assemble biodigesters use to the process of anaerobic digestion to transform waste (animal dung, human dung, household compost) into methane that serves as burnable gas for cooking and lighting. A byproduct of the digestion process is an organic fertilizer that can be used to increase farming productivity. Biodigestion is a mature technology and our biodigester design is based on a field proven and open source model.
