Bir İZ has been established on 2013 with the aim of serving the community mental health. Since thenit has developed and managed projects in collaborations with public and private institutions,international organizations and several CSOs. Bir İZ has worked with refugees, kids, students,teachers, school managers, therapists, translators, women, volunteers, doctors, nurses in variouspsychosocial support and capacity building programs. YanYana Psychosocial Support Project forSyrian Refugees in Turkey was implemented between February 2017-September 2018 with a fundingfrom Delegation of the European Union to Turkey, and the European Instrument for Democracy andHuman Rights (EIHDR). Bir İZ also worked with 6 AlFarah Centers of ASAM on 2018, providingtraining and supervisions to the therapists and translators who were working with Syrian refugee kids.Besides, Bir İZ is one of the associates of an international project, which is founded by MerkatorFoundation, aiming to contribute the social integration of refugees in Turkey and in Germany throughdeveloping tools and games for children. Furthermore, Bir İZ provided consultancy services toConcern Worldwide Şanlıurfa Office, through developing Psychosocial Support Curriculums for thecenters of Concern Worldwide where Syrian kids and youth were trained, and through conductingtrainers for the facilitators of the centers. Beginning on April 2019, Bir İZ has been implementing anew project, namely Stronger When Together (MüşterekProje) which is funded by CFCU, and aimingto strengthen the human resources capacities and communication and advocacy skills of CSOsworking with refugees in Turkey. Within the scope of the project, Bir İZ and project co-applicantİKGV are currently working with 24 CSOs.Throughout all projects it conducted, Bir İZ has built strong relations with related public institutions such as Ministry of National Education, Istanbul Directorate of National Education, Governorship of Istanbul.
