Drawing on a combined 35 years making and selling wine at Bonny Doon Vineyard in California, Domaine Ostertag in Alsace, Piemonte, Puglia, and beyond, co-founders and winemakers Alex Krause and John Locke currently produce 3 wines under their Birichino Wines label- a highly aromatic Malvasia Bianca, an old vine Grenache from an ungrafted vineyard planted in 1910, and a small quantity of a Provencal- inspired pink from even more ancient ungrafted vines planted primarily in 1886. Their aim is to produce wines that possess perfume, poise, and puckishness.
