Publishing - Chicago, Illinois, United States
Bizurich Media is a Chicago-based media and publishing company founded in 2010. That year, the company published Bill Coon's 'Swim: A Memoir of Survival'. The story chronicles the perspective of a young man faced with harsh medical reality and uncertainty. In 1989, Coon became the eighth infant heart transplant recipient in the USA. Twenty years later, he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and kidney failure. Around this time he began to write journal entries which later became his inspirational memoir. The book has sold thousands of copies worldwide and has become a staple for many book clubs, charitable organizations and healthcare associations. Coon wrote the book for people like him, people encountering their own 'swim' to survive. In 2012, his desire to connect with readers and patients resulted in a cross-country book tour, 'The Bill Coon All-American Swim Tour'. While on tour, he spoke at universities and libraries, and visited hospitals to meet and speak with patients and their families. He also collaborated with such groups as Donate Life, The American Heart Association and Mended Little Hearts. The tour was a success, adding more fuel to Coon's desire to connect and inspire. Since the publication, Coon has continued to write with plans of publishing several more works with Bizurich Media. He also continues to accept requests for motivational speaking, and plans on returning to the road at some point to share his unique vision and stories.Bizurich Media has grown substantially in terms of audience and planned projects. In addition to books from Coon and P.G. Sparacio, the media company has begun preliminary talks to produce a documentary based on Coon's memoir and promoting organ donation. The company also reaches out to other writers, artists, photographers, charitable organizations and public speakers, in efforts to continually inspire with art, purpose and vision.
