Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio - Black Shades founder and owner Josh Vaughn has spent the last six years traveling all over the world. Not staying in one place too long, he found himself living and vacationing in many captivating places!As an avid diver and fisherman, he has a natural love for the open water and marine life. Through his travels, he explored amazing coastlines and saw so much raw natural beauty of our planet. However, he also saw way too many beaches littered with trash and toxic waste seeping into the ocean.After starting Black Shades, he decided very early on that helping our oceans and protecting marine life would be a central pillar and overall goal of the organization! Through the same passion and love for the oceans, Black Shades is fully committed to sustainable practices and helping to remove toxic plastic waste from the oceans in any way we can. Designed with good vibes, Black Shades was created with one thought in mind, "Live every day like it's vacation." That's a philosophy we've learned along the journey of life, and it's something we want to share with the world.
