Hospitality - Bulimba, Queensland, Australia
A cosy bar located on Oxford Street Bulimba QLD . Named after the Prohibition-era custom of placing stuffed tigers in windows to alert patrons to the availability of alcohol, Blind Tiger is similarly secretive with an emphasis on word-of-mouth advertising and little self-promotion. The cosy space is filled with vintage furniture and lamps while the walls have been adorned with lavishly framed paintings and taxidermy, with candles dripping wax freely down ornate holders. The mantra is ‘simple food, done well', there is a strong focus on single release and independently bottled whiskies from around the world, with the selection changing based on what is trending. Blind Tiger also boats six beer taps pouring a selection of brews, including Blind Tiger Lager, which has been brewed specially for the bar. A small but choice selection of wine is also available, with the bar offering rounded out by a selection of cocktails, boilermakers and other concoctions. Blind Tiger's bartenders well versed in their craft – non-whiskey drinkers can have something special and enjoyable whipped up in front of them
