Blink facilitates collaboration and innovation within the African emerging technology industry by convening cutting-edge, interactive and informative events. Blink aims to strengthen emerging technology ecosystems in Africa to develop local solutions to local challenges through progressing the adoption and integration of relevant technology.Since inception, Blink, along with its division the Blockchain Entrepreneurs Club South Africa (BECSA) has created a novel community and vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurs and key stakeholders in South Africa to network, discover opportunities, understand emerging technologies and how they can be used in tandem for maximum impact. Events varied from informal meet ups and happy hours to dialogues to encourage women to engage more in the space, to industry events with over 200 people, with expert speakers such as Vinny Lingham, Tanya Knowles, Marius Reitz and Riccardo Spagni.Institutional Relationships: Partners and sponsors of Blink and BECSA events have included PwC, Standard Bank, Deloitte, ConsenSys, RMB FOUNDeRY and Luno. In addition, Blink has been invited to contribute to governmental and academic initiatives such as the Intergovernmental Fintech Working Group (IFWG) run by the SARB, SANBA run by the DST and events run by the CSIR.
