The Lakes Course at Blue Bay International Golf Club is designed to be a unique golf experience capable of hosting a major professional tournament. The combination of existing lakes, sandy soils, and native vegetation offer a spectacular golfing venue. The design makes maximum use of existing lakes to produce a strategic, visually spectacular, and sometimes intimidating front nine. The back nine will play through a mixture of wooded forest and dunes with the 13th hole arriving at the sandy beach of the China Sea. Wind will be a factor and the routing is designed accordingly with generous playing areas, firm fairways, and run-up approach shots. The non-turf rough will be a carpet of open sand, native shrubs and pine trees making the course visually stunning but comfortably playable by golfers of all ability. Although the course features abundant water, it will have the playing characteristics of the world's famous links courses. Strategic options abound and thoughtful play will be required by all.
