In 2005, Blue Bucket, LLC. founder Jared Narlock, lost everything he owned, and found himself at a pivot point in life. On August 29th, Hurricane Katrina ripped through Mississippi where Jared was living with his wife, and took with it over 1200 lives, causing 108 billion dollars in damage, and changing the landscape of the Southern United States forever. In the aftermath, Jared was met with a choice to leave the South and begin fresh elsewhere, or to lean in to the devastation present in Mississippi and to help others to rebuild their own lives.Jared picked up the only personal item that remained from the hurricane, a single blue bucket left in his front yard, and moved forward with a new sense of direction.A decade later, Jared found himself in Rapid City, SD as Vice President leading his organization's Talent Development division when he was asked to speak at a Tedx Youth Event. In preparing for this event, he pulled out the picture of his blue bucket again. In that moment it became blindingly clear that he had found a visual representation, and a name, for a business and purpose he had been working to grow.
