BLUE Institute, located on Cape Cod in Harwich, in New Bedford, Massachusetts at Groundworks! and in Newport, Rhode Island at Innovate Newport. The Blue Institute is a Registered 501(c)(3) non-profit international education, research and community engagement institute creating sustainable solutions for clean water, healthy and secure oceans, and climate change issues facing the local and global communities around the world. The Institute will foster "hands on" education & research in marine technology, watershed solutions, shellfish industry advancement, and innovative clean water technology to name a few topics. The Cape Cod, New Bedford, and Newport areas are uniquely qualified to be our locations because of the geography, the aquifers, and their internationally famous environmental identity. Blue Institute, a public/private collaboration with missions driven anchor research universities and consortium members will provide researchers and graduate students year round access at a brick and mortar campus, summer international water security & policy summits, K-12 teacher trainings, and fall/spring "semester away" cross-disciplinary water centric curriculum for undergraduates. We have educational and cultural programs out of our Cape Cod office at the Harwich Cultural Center, soon at Groundworks in New Bedford and have in planning STEM related BlueTech summer 2021 educational and research programing as well for Newport, Rhode Island and at the Blue Incubator, PBC in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
