At Blue Moon Plays, you can find traditional comedy and drama, along with plays that are edgy or experimental in structure or content. Middle schools and high school teachers will find theatrical adaptations of Oliver Twist, The Hypochondriac, as well as dramas and comedies by Shakespeare and Wilde. Seniors citizen groups have a variety of comedies. For contests and auditions, students and actors have a wide variety of monologues—historical, biblical, and contemporary. We also focus on plays that deal with social issues—from environmental problems and prejudice to drug use and sexual molestation. On the lighter side, we have plays with music for kids and adults. Most importantly, we sponsor plays hot off the press: plays with one or two productions that deserve more exposure or plays with interesting, quirky issues or staging looking for a premiere or a workshop.
