Bluestone is a leading, portfolio and capital management business with offices in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Founded in 2000, the company has expanded rapidly and currently has a team of around 100 professionals managing a portfolio of diverse consumer loans worth £1.5bn. It also has a mature bond franchise, having issued over £2.5bn of mortgage backed securities via 17 securitisations since 2002. Bluestone is owned by a mix of private and institutional shareholders including Macquarie Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Crescent Capital, Barclays Bank and ABN AMRO. In Europe, the firm is organised in two divisions: Bluestone Capital Management acquires portfolios of loans in partnership with capital partners - usually banks or alternative investment funds. This unit is involved in the origination of investment opportunities, and participates in the analysis and pricing of transactions as well as the creation of the asset holding structures. Bluestone Credit Management (BCM) is responsible for the management of loan portfolios, and other receivables. This service can be provided on an agency basis to other businesses, or to support portfolios acquired by BCM. BCM is able to provide Standby Servicing which gives asset owners the confidence that in the event of a partial operational breakdown or total servicer failure, an alternative party is able to support the portfolio and make sure business continues uninterrupted.
